106th Annual Conference

Please note that all sessions will be held on the veterinary campus, in the Overton Educational Wing unless otherwise noted. 

You Need to Know: 

We are delighted that you have decided to join us for this year’s meeting.  We hope that your stay in Auburn is enjoyable and that your continuing education experience exceeds your expectations.  

As a reminder, all continuing education meetings will take place on the campus at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in the Overton Educational Wing. 

All reunions will begin at 5:30 pm on Saturday evening at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center. 

Class pictures will begin at 5:45 pm with the Class of 1963 and will run subsequently every 10 minutes.  Dinner will be served for each group after the class picture is taken.

Parking Information

We will be offering a shuttle that will make a continual loop from the Vet School, to the Holiday Inn Express located on South College Street, then the AU Hotel and Conference Center before returning to the Vet School.  This shuttle will run during the following hours:
 
Thursday     noon-10:00 pm
Friday          7:00 am-5:30 pm
Saturday     7:00 am-5:30 pm
 
If you desire to drive, our GPS location is 960 Wire Road, Auburn, AL.  We ask that you park in the large “C” zone lot adjacent to Greene Hall, as that area is the only area that has been cleared for visitor parking for the duration of the conference.

Registration Information 

If you pre-registered for the Clinical Pathology Slides and Smear Lab, you will be able to pick up your registration packet in the lobby of Greene Hall beginning at 1:00 pm.  All other registrant packets will be available after 1:00 pm in the Overton Educational Wing Lobby.  If you will be attending your reunion only, please look for a registration desk near the Executive Offices at the AU Hotel.  The area will be staffed beginning at 4:00 pm.

Tours

There will be tours of the facilities available during Back-to-College Night on Friday Night with the first tour departing at 6:15 pm and the final tour departing at 7:30 pm.  Please note that due to the necessity of preventing pathogen transmission, that this is a facilities tour only.  We are unable to tour the barns.
 
If you would desire to tour the facilities under construction, please contact the CVM Development Office at 334-844-6733.

Miscellaneous Information

Aubie will be in attendance during Back-to-College Night from 7:00pm-7:30pm.  Make sure to bring your camera!
 
Please make sure to bring a sweater or light jacket as Overton tends to be a bit chilly in the classrooms.

The weather forecast looks terrific!  The highs are supposed to be in the low 70's with lows in the lower 50's.

**Babysitting is available on-site at the AU Hotel and Conference Center on Saturday Night.  Veterinary students that are a part of the Christian Veterinary Fellowship will be providing activities and snacks for your children during this time.  Please be sure your child(ren) have eaten supper before arrival.  If you will require babysitting, you must fill out a babysitting form and pre-pay before dropping your children off Saturday Evening.  The charge is $20/per child for the first child in a family and $10 for each additional child from the same family.  Funds are payable upon arrival via check or cash.  You may make checks payable to CVF (Christian Vet Fellowship).**

  • Back-to-College Night
    A complimentary dinner at Auburn’s CVM Lameness Arena, tours of the college, photos with Aubie, and birds from the Southeastern Raptor Center make this a fun night for the entire family. In addition, CVM’s large animal faculty present the El Toro Award.
  • OTS Alumni Activities
    Omega Tau Sigma professional veterinary fraternity hosts activities at the OTS House during Annual Conference weekend. All OTS alumni and families are welcome. For information on conference events, visit the Facebook page – OTS Zeta Alumni.
  • Class Reunions
    Class reunions are held for the classes of 1963, 1968, 1973, 1978, 1983, 1988, 1993, 1998, 2003, and 2008. You do not have to attend the conference to attend your reunion, but you must pre-register for your reunion by March 15.

General Information

Preregistration is strongly encouraged. Confirmations will be sent by e-mail only to those registering before March 15. Each paid participant will receive the conference proceedings. Also included in registration is one nametag for a spouse or guest. Children are not required to wear a nametag.

Class Reunions

You do NOT have to register for the conference to attend your class reunion, but you must complete the registration process as “reunion only”. Registration will be accepted through March 30. If you plan to attend conference events, you must pay the appropriate conference registration fee and complete all parts of the conference registration.

Annual Conference sessions and labs offer the latest in continuing education from experts in the field and feature Auburn alumni and faculty.
