What's New At SRRC
Farruk ML Kabir, a first year Ph.D. student in the Cell and Molecular Biosciences Program was awarded "Best Graduate Student Poster" at the College of Veterinary Medicine's annual Phi Zeta Research Day, November 11, 2009. Mr. Kabir's poster, entitled "Induction of cell surface integrins in lymphomas and potential applications to gene therapy", described his work with Scott-Ritchey scientists Drs. Ann Marie O'Neill and Bruce Smith. This work has identified the mechanism of lymphoma resistance to adenoviral gene therapy and may result in new approaches to treating this common dog tumor.
Scott-Ritchey Research Center scientists Drs. Douglas Martin and Frederik Van Ginkel were inducted into the Epsilon Chapter of the Phi Zeta Veterinary Honor Society as honorary members at the annual Phi Zeta awards banquet, November 11, 2009. Both were recognized for their contributions to research at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
