CONSTITUTION
ARTICLE I- NAME
STUDENT CHAPTER OF THE AMERICAN ASSOCIATION OF ZOO VETERINARIANS
(AAZV)
ARTICLE II- OBJECTIVES
The objectives of this club will be:
(a) To enhance the educational opportunities of the professional students
in the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine.
(b) To inform students about veterinary problems currently encountered
in dealing with exotic animals.
(c) To advance programs for the preventative medicine, husbandry, and
scientific research in the field of veterinary medicine dealing with exotic
animals.
ARTICLE III- PROPERTY
This club is not formed for pecuniary profit or gain,
and no money or properties received by the club will be paid to any members,
or to any person, during the life of the club, except as compensation
for property purchased or services rendered.
ARTICLE IV- MEMBERSHIP
Active membership in the Auburn University College of
Veterinary Medicine student chapter, American Association of Zoo Veterinarians
will be limited to veterinary students. These members, on an individual
basis, may become student members of the American Association of Zoo Veterinarians,
although membership in the parent organization is not necessary for membership
in the student chapter.
ARTICLE V- OFFICERS
The officers of this organization shall be a president,
a vice president, and a secretary/treasurer. Class representatives may
be chosen in the classes in which no other officer exists.
ARTICLE VI- AMENDMENTS
This constitution can be amended only by a majority of
the active members present at a regular meeting of the chapter, provided
the proposed amendment has been submitted in writing to each member and
read at the previous regular meeting. All amendments will be approved
by the board of AAZV through recommendations by the student liaison committee
(the education committee).
