The Department of Anatomy and Histology and the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology merged in 1997 to form the Department of Anatomy, Physiology and Pharmacology (APP). APP is one of two departments in Greene Hall that teaches basic science courses to 1st, 2nd and 3rd year professional veterinary students as well as graduate students. These courses provide the foundation for the professional veterinary degree. Our mission is to make sure that all students who pass through our department leave with this knowledge and practical foundation.
Currently we have 21 full time faculty members along with a support staff consisting of Office Personnel, Postdoctoral and Research Fellows, Research Assistants and Associates, Technicians and a full roster of Graduate Students to assist with their teaching and research. Our faculty have been honored with numerous awards for teaching and research. The department has several major ongoing research programs involving Biosensor, Cardiovascular, Diabetes, Endocrinology, Neuroscience, and Osteoarthritis research that will enhance and improve life for both animals and humans.
