As a part of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital, the clinical pharmacology laboratory fulfills its commitment to teaching at several levels. Instruction at the professional level begins in the second year during the basic Pharmacology course, and continues throughout the third and fourth years in the form of Clinical Pharmacology electives and clinical case management problems. A Drug Information Center consisting of books, journals, articles and a computer based drug reference library is available for students and faculty. Graduate students in Clinical Pharmacology can work toward degrees at either the MS or PhD levels. A Clinical Pharmacology Residency program has been approved by the ACVCP. In addition to professional and graduate students, many undergraduates have an opportunity to participate in ongoing research.
