Progressive Paws Running Club
Progressive Paws Running Club is an organization devoted to providing students, faculty, and their dogs a healthy form of stress relief through physical activity. In an environment where it is easy to be overwhelmed, Progressive Paws schedule hikes and weekly runs throughout the semester to get students exercising and away from everyday stressors. People of all fitness levels are welcome! New this semester (Spring 2018), we have dog yoga and active fetch.
Principle Activities, Events, or Programs:
Progressive Paws has group runs scheduled each Tuesday throughout the semester. Additionally, we schedule hikes once a month. The club also holds t-shirt drives to make rope toys for the dogs of LCHS.
How this group’s activities benefit the profession, university, and community:
In a time when mental health and wellness is impacting the profession so profoundly, it is pertinent that there be outlets to combat the stressful nature of veterinary medicine. Progressive Paws was founded to do that! Members are encouraged to participate in group activities and earn prizes for mileage milestones.
