Medical Director   Profile:

Stanley Robertson, D.V.M., has been a Medical Director with Banfield since 2011, initially in the Dallas market and now in the Midsouth market.  He has been with Banfield since 2009, after a career in private practice and academia. With Banfield, Dr. Robertson finds the opportunity to develop in his career by developing doctors to provide quality medicine care for patients.  His passion is providing the highest quality of medicine to patients and developing doctors.

The right person for this job takes great enjoyment in:

  • Practicing veterinary medicine in a manner compliant with the State Veterinary Practice Act, Federal and/or State Controlled Substance laws and Banfield Code of Ethics, along with appropriate medical record documentation; ensuring the hospital team maintains complete medical records that meet practice quality control guidelines.
  • Delivering appropriate preventive care, performing complete diagnostic workups, developing thorough treatment plans, communicating home care instructions, and planning follow-up visits.
  • Using evidence-based medicine care as well as good judgment to provide the best of preventive care for the pet.
  • Leading the team through the daily schedule and caseload, delegating tasks in order to help those around you grow in their skill and capability.
  • Partnering with the Practice Manager to direct and lead the hospital in consistently high quality care and exceptional        service.


Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or equivalent degree.
  • Veterinary license in good standing or eligibility for licensure with the applicable state veterinary board.
