National Spay Alliance Foundation  is seeking an experienced Veterinarian to lead our new and growing high quality, high volume low cost wellness and spay/neuter clinic in Dalton GA as the Medical DirectorNational Spay Alliance has been in existence for just over a year as a high volume spay/neuter mobile organization. We are currently looking to grow our operations to include our two mobile rigs and a brick and mortar wellness practice. This is an outstanding opportunity for a motivated veterinarian to continue practicing medicine while establishing the direction and medical quality of the hospital like an owner would, but without the risks of ownership. 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct and develop the veterinary, technical and administrative staff towards the goal of quality patient care and excellent client service; assist in the formulation of objectives and policies to ensure efficient hospital operations.

  • Oversee the hiring, reviewing, disciplining and terminating of professional staff, with the assistance of the Field Operations Manger and Business Manager.

  • Review the P&L Report monthly and partner with the Business Manager to increase revenue and limit expenses; work with the Business Manger and Field Operations Manager to prepare and submit the yearly budget.

  • Stay up-to-date with new medical information and changes in veterinary medicine.

  • Model an “owner” mentality in hospital by demonstrating a willingness to assist all employees in making the practice a success; invest the necessary amount of time to accomplish the required responsibilities and ensure the smooth operation of the hospital.

  • Develop a rapport with clients and determine their needs and wishes; perform physical examinations and diagnostic/medical/surgical/dental procedures in a way that will deliver the highest quality care while delivering affordable care choices for clients and their pets.

  • Explain physical examination findings and communicate to the client a diagnosis of the pet’s problems; create and present a treatment plan for the pet to the client; educate clients on preventative health care, including vaccines and appropriate nutritional products.

  • Maintain client/patient medical/surgical records and make certain all necessary logs are kept up-to-date through established protocols.

Skills and Qualifications: 

  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree, or equivalent, from an accredited university.

  • Candidates must hold or be willing to obtain a Georgia State license and hold or be eligible to hold a DEA license must have a valid drivers license.

  • The ability to make decisions, delegate responsibility and achieve results with hospital team members.

  • Good sense of humor and ability to work in a fast paced environment.
