Veterinarian- OCONUS work in Iraq

Job Description

Veterinarian in charge of  the health and welfare of SOC Civilian EOD working dogs in Iraq.  


This position is located in Iraq.

  • Responsible to conduct annual health exams, administer necessary vaccinations, and treat the animals for  emergency conditions. 
  • Inspects and documents the health of each animal. 
  • Must travel to other contract site locations to perform these exams and vaccinations on other SOC Dogs and sub contractor assigned resources. 
  • Inspect kennels to ensure they meet the requirements to maintain a healthy environment for the animals and make suggestions to improve the kennels. 
  • Maintain Health Certificates on all EOD working dogs for inspection
  • Must have at least 2 years in Veterinary Care
  • Must be at least 25 years of age
  • Must pass medical screening  to include screening for common illegal drugs and communicable diseases. Must pass dental screening to deploy.
  • Must have a current and valid Passport
  • No Felony convictions
  • No Domestic Violence convictions
  • In-country experience preferred but not required
  • Exercise sound judgment in all areas of responsibility
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D
  • Proficiency with Windows, MS Excel, MS Word and database software
