Joy Goodwin Lecture: Dr. Terry Kenakin

Dr. Terry Kenakin, a professor in the Department of Pharmacology at the University of North Caroline School of Medicine, Chapel Hill, will present a 2018 Joy Goodwin Lecture on Wednesday, April 11, at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
His lecture, to be held in 255 Veterinary Education Center at 10:30 a.m., is titled: ‘A Perfect Storm comes to Pharmacology’-Modifying Ongoing Chemical Conversations in the Body Through Receptor Allostery-Application to Biased Signaling.”
Dr. Kenakin is engaged in studies aimed at the optimal design of drug activity assays systems, the discovery and testing of allosteric molecules for therapeutic application and the quantitative modeling of drug effects. In addition, he is Director of the Pharmacology graduate courses at the UNC School of Medicine. He is a member of numerous editorial boards as well as editor in Chief of the Journal of Receptors and Signal
Transduction. He has authored numerous articles and has written 10 books onpharmacology.
