Randy Darnton, DVM

Dr. Darnton, a resident of Virginia, received his DVM from the University of Georgia in 1981 and then completed an internship at Texas A&M University in Large Animal Medicine and Surgery.  He returned to Virginia and practiced for a year in a mixed large animal practice and then for a year with a commercial embryo transfer company.  In 1984, he started a solo equine ambulatory practice.  In 1990, he founded and was co-owner of Roanoke Valley Equine Clinic.  In 2009, he retired from Roanoke Valley Equine Clinic and founded Veterinary Equine Dentists.  He came to Auburn in December of 2013 as a Clinical Veterinary Fellow to work with the Auburn University Equine Source Plasma Project.  He is currently an Adjunct Assistant Professor with the Department of Clinical Sciences. 

Clinical Interests

His professional interest is equine dentistry, specifically, teaching routine techniques of those new to the field and following the long-term effects of routine dental care.
