Biography

 

Glen Sellers completed undergraduate studies in Animal Sciences at Auburn University in 1998. Between 1998 and 2006, he gained valuable experience in pharmacology and anesthesia at the J.T. Vaughan Large Animal Teaching Hospital, providing care for equine and food animals. He earned his Master of Science in Bio-Medical Sciences from Auburn University in 2006 and a Master of Business Administration in Management from Auburn University in 2009. Between 2005 and 2016, he supervised staff in anesthesia, sterile process, and surgery operations at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine Teaching Hospital. In 2016, his clinical lecturer position expanded to include veterinary business and practice management. He is pursuing a PhD at the Auburn University Harbert College of Business, focusing on business strategy.

Sellers provides professional development, business education, and practice management instruction at all levels of the DVM curriculum. In addition, he helps facilitate grants related to placing students in rural veterinary practices and assists practice owners in increasing hospital profitability and efficiency. He is the liaison to the Harbert College of Business for students enrolled in the DVM/MBA program.

Research Interests

 

Sellers’ research interests include veterinary clinical anesthesia, pharmacokinetics of anesthetic drugs, veterinary practice management, and business fundamentals focused on clinical efficiency and profitability. His current research focuses on rural practice management, profitability, and efficiency.

Academic Areas

 

Sellers teaches selected topics in clinical anesthesia in large animals, practice management, professional development and business fundamentals.
