The faculty of Food Animal Service are committed to training future veterinarians by providing students with the knowledge and skills necessary to continue to serve livestock producers and the agricultural community. The same faculty members also continue to investigate livestock health and productivity problems through disease research and collaboration with other investigators of agricultural issues.
Research efforts range from sophisticated projects delving into the molecular makeup of viruses that infect cattle, small ruminants, and wildlife to applied studies that develop novel surgical or therapeutic techniques for restoring animal health and productivity.
