Faculty position in Food Animal Disease ResearchJob Description
The Department of Pathobiology, College of Veterinary Medicine, Auburn University invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure-track position in Food Animal Disease Research at the rank of Assistant Research Professor.
The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining the college’s focus in research and teaching in Food Animal Diseases. Applicants should possess DVM and PhD degrees. Completion of a residency program and earned diplomate status in relevant specialty boards is highly desirable. Applicants must have experience in teaching and clinical practice. The successful candidate will exhibit significant potential or outstanding accomplishments in goal-oriented research of food animal infectious disease.
The candidate will be expected to establish and maintain an extramurally funded research program that complements existing research within the college. The successful candidate will contribute to professional or graduate student instruction in their specialty. The position also includes a 25% assignment to clinical service within the Department of Clinical Sciences, Food Animal Section. This clinical service includes provision of emergency care outside of regular business hours, and teaching and mentoring of veterinary students and residents. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Review of applications will begin March 11, 2013 and continue until the position is filled.
