103rd Annual Veterinary Conference Occurs April 8-11Date: 3/31/2010 10:48 am
The Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine hosts the 103rd Annual Conference April 8-11 with veterinarians, technicians, and spouses gathering for seminars and class reunions. Events are to be held at the college’s Wire Road campus and at the Hotel at Auburn University and Dixon Conference Center.
“We welcome our graduates home to Auburn,” said Dean Timothy Boosinger, “and offer knowledge and information for veterinary healthcare today.”
One special Auburn graduate – Jeanne Swanner Robertson ’67 – is the conference keynote speaker. Robertson is the great-granddaughter of Dr. I.S. McAdory, the second dean of Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine. A professional speaker whose comedy is based on her life experiences, Robertson talks about the importance of humor in the work place.
“Class reunions are also a large part of the conference and this year we host fifth-year reunions for classes from 1960 to 2005,” said Dean Boosinger.
A golf tournament at the Auburn University Club at Yarbrough Farms on April 8 will help raise funds for special projects at the college. On April 9, a Back-to-College Night for attendees includes tours of the veterinary college and birds of prey from the Southeastern Raptor Center.
