Pratt-Carden Drive Dedication Occurs Oct. 28 at Southeastern Raptor Center

Date: 10/25/2011 8:07 am

A dedication ceremony for Pratt-Carden Drive at the Southeastern Raptor Center takes place Friday, Oct. 28, at 3 p.m. at the Edgar B. Carter Educational Amphitheater. The newly paved road is named for 1953 veterinary medicine alumnus Bruce G. Pratt of Beaufort, S.C., and his daughter, Sarah "Tosh" Carden, a 1993 Auburn horticulture graduate, also of Beaufort.

Auburn University President Jay Gogue and members of the veterinary college will attend the dedication ceremony to celebrate this important upgrade of the Raptor Center grounds.

Football, Fans, and Feathers, the educational, birds-in-flight raptor program that takes place on Fridays before Auburn home football games, begins at 4 p.m. following the dedication ceremony.

The Southeastern Raptor Center is part of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. Its mission is to rehabilitate injured or orphaned birds, and to educate the public about raptors – their habitats, conservation, and ecology. For more information, visit vetmed.auburn.edu/raptor.
