Tiger Turns 30 with Birthday Party and Tribute on Homecoming Saturday, Nov. 6Date: 11/2/2010 1:16 pm
A birthday party and a halftime tribute during Auburn University's homecoming game Nov. 6 will honor Tiger, War Eagle VI, on her 30th year.
The Southeastern Raptor Center and Auburn University Bookstore will host a birthday party, which will begin at 9 a.m. at the bookstore. Tiger will be in attendance along with Aubie and the Auburn University cheerleaders. Cupcakes, informal photos with Tiger, and special 30th birthday T-shirts will be available. To celebrate and honor Tiger's 30th year, nationally known artist Stephen Malkoff teamed with the Southeastern Raptor Center to create a pencil portrait of her. Malkoff will be at the bookstore to show a print of his limited edition artwork. Only 3,000 lithograph prints are to be produced and a percentage of the sales will be used to construct a welcome center at the Raptor Center's Edgar B. Carter Educational Amphitheater. Tiger, Malkoff and members of the Southeastern Raptor Center will also be honored during halftime of Auburn's homecoming game against Chattanooga. A giclée print of Malkoff's pencil drawing will be unveiled to fans. To order a print, visit vetmed.auburn.edu/tiger-turns-30. The Southeastern Raptor Center, part of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, helps educate the public and rehabilitates injured, ill or orphaned birds of prey. |
