Effective January 1, 2012, Dr. Bruce F. Smith has been appointed director of the Auburn University Research Initiative in Cancer (AURIC).  AURIC is a new program, supported in part by $1 million in funding from the state of Alabama, and focused on enhancing cancer research at Auburn University.
