Kabir Awarded "Best Graduate Student Poster"

Farruk ML Kabir, a first year Ph.D. student in the Cell and Molecular Biosciences Program was awarded "Best Graduate Student Poster" at the College of Veterinary Medicine's annual Phi Zeta Research Day, November 11, 2009. Mr. Kabir's poster, entitled "Induction of cell surface integrins in lymphomas and potential applications to gene therapy", described his work with Scott-Ritchey scientists Drs. Ann Marie O'Neill and Bruce Smith. This work has identified the mechanism of lymphoma resistance to adenoviral gene therapy and may result in new approaches to treating this common dog tumor.
