Additional Notes

PTND = prior to next dose

If collecting single sample collect trough level.

1 Aminoglycosides bind to glass.  Do not store aminoglycosides in glass tubes for long periods of time.  It is better to spin down and remove serum to a plastic container.

2 Do not use serum separator tubes.  Many drugs bind to the gel leading to lower concentrations in the measured sample.

3 Do not store Digoxin samples in Monojet tubes as the drug binds to the rubber stoppers.
