What to do in case of fire or other emergency

NOTIFY

During a fire or any emergency requiring evacuation of a building, pull the nearest fire alarm and call 911.

EVACUATE

When the alarm sounds, you MUST evacuate immediately and proceed to the designated assembly areas. Close all doors behind you to prevent the spread of smoke, fire and toxic gases. Notify people who may not have heard the alarm, but do not endanger yourself. If there is smoke, keep low so you can breathe better. The air will be fresher near the floor.

ELEVATORS

Do not attempt to use an elevator during a fire.

GATHER

Report to the predetermined safe meeting area for your building, and remain at least 200' from all buildings and fire fighting equipment. Building occupants are responsible for familiarizing themselves with the location of the safe meeting area.

DO NOT RE-ENTER

Do not re-enter the building, at any time, until fire department personnel have completed their work, determined that the building is safe, and permission has been given to re-enter by the Auburn Fire Division. The Auburn Fire Division will perform search and rescue, fire suppression, ventilation, salvage, and overhaul operations as required.

Mobility Impaired Occupants
