Misty Abrams Edmondson, DVM, MS, DACT Dr. Edmondson is a native of Elmore County, Alabama and received a BS in microbiology from Auburn University in 1997 and DVM from Auburn University in 2001.  She worked in a mixed animal practice for 2 years before returning to Auburn University to complete a residency in food animal theriogenology.  Dr. Edmondson completed residency and MS in biomedical sciences from Auburn University in 2006 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Theriogenologists in 2006.  She currently is an assistant professor in the food animal section where duties include management of clinical hospital cases, didactic teaching, research, and outreach.

Research Interests Interests:  Impact of infectious disease on reproduction, control of horn flies in cattle population, urogenital surgery; cattle, camelids, small ruminants. Description:  Major interest is theriogenology of cattle, small ruminants, and camelids.  These interests include current projects involving analysis of diagnostic tests for accurate detection of bovine viral diarrhea virus (BVDV) in cattle, methods to control horn flies, effects of BVDV on reproduction in alpacas, and pharmacological studies with alpacas.  A large portion of clinical interests involve food animal medicine and surgery.
