Cary Veterinary Medical Library Gets New Look

The eagle painting in the newly renovated library,
"Land of the Blue Sky" by artist Larry Chandler, was donated
by Mr. and Mrs. William Ireland. It is on loan from the
Southeastern Raptor Center.
The Charles Allen Cary Veterinary Medical Library underwent a major renovation this spring to add new study areas, offices, shelving, furniture, carpeting and an air handling system. An open house on Sept. 2 marked the new beginning for the facility that was first constructed in 1970 and is named for Dr. Charles Allen Cary, who established Auburn's veterinary program in 1892 and served as the first dean from 1907 to 1935.
The library renovation is just one of several projects recently completed. During the summer, Overton Auditorium and Goodwin Student Center received facelifts with new carpet, seats and furniture, while Rooms 120, 121 and 230 in Greene Hall had new seating installed.

Marking the opening of the renovated library were
(l-r) Sheri Downer of AU Libraries, veterinary
library head Cindy Mitchell, library assistant Cora
Cobb, library assistant Joni Johnson, and Dean
Bonnie MacEwan of AU Libraries.
