In addition to literature, disciplines in the humanities include (but are not limited to) philosophy, religious studies, speech, and foreign languages. Fine arts courses should emphasize history and appreciation rather than performance. Courses include art, music, theater and dance.

NOTES:
* Students must complete a 6 semester hour sequence either in literature or in history.

Organic Chemistry, Physics and the Science electives must have been taken within 6 calendar years.

*** Course may be taken as an on-line course

+Science electives must be from the following list:

Comparative Anatomy, Genetics, Embryology, Mammalian or Animal Physiology, Microbiology, Cell Biology, Histology, Reproductive Physiology, Parasitology, or Immunology.

Student's completing their undergraduate / pre-vet work at Auburn University must complete the requirements for the AU core which are more specific. Contact your   Auburn Pre-Vet Advisor for more information.

The final grade in each course must be a "C" or better. Requirements for the following categories listed in detail above will be waived if the student has a bachelor's degree:

  • History, Social, Behavioral Sciences
  • Mathematics
