Nominee Guidelines
Nominees
1. The candidate must be a living alumnus of the College of Veterinary Medicine. This includes not only those who obtained their professional degrees, but also those who received advanced degrees.
2. The candidate should be known for his or her accomplishments in veterinary medicine and/or have made an outstanding contribution to his or her community and the advancement of human welfare.
3. Individuals nominating candidates for this award must provide a detailed curriculum vitae of the candidate to Dr. David McClary, representative of the Alumni Council Awards Committee, by the date designated by the committee.
Guidelines
I. The Awards Committee will consist of three Advisory Council members (one as chair), the executive secretary, and two faculty members from the Department of Clinical Sciences, one faculty member from basic sciences, and a representative of the Auburn University Alumni Association.
II. Nomination information is distributed to all alumni in the Auburn Veterinarian. Instructions for providing documentary evidence is included in the nomination request.
III. The Awards Committee of the Advisory Council reviews nominations and selects the recipient or recipients.
IV. The presentation of the award will be by the dean of the College of Veterinary Medicine at an appropriate time. The Awards Committee has authority to consider other available options.
V. The timing of the award, the type of award and other details are the responsibility of the Awards Committee.
VI. In view of the large number of living alumni, the ad hoc committee recommended that the council may want to consider making multiple awards. The number of awards is left to the discretion of the Awards Committee.
