How to Take Snapshots from Videos Using Windows Movie Maker
Open Microsoft Movie Maker
Click Start->Programs->Windows Movie Maker.

Import the Video you would like to take a Snap Shot
from.
- Click on "Import video".

- Find the video file you wish to open.
- An example would be the Necropsy videos on Vetlab3
- Click the Desktop button.
- Then click the Course Materials Folder.
- You may recieve an error message when you do this similiar to the following
(Click picture to view). If so just click ok
and go on.
- Then click the Pathology folder.
- Then click on the Necropsy folder.
- Inside the Necropsy folder contains many different folders of videos. Once
you have found the exact file you want to open click on it and press the
"Import
button.

- To watch the video hit the play button.
- You can scroll through the video by selecting the timeline.
(Click picture to view) - If you pause the video you can move through it frame by frame. This is done
by holding down the ALT key and the then selecting the left or right arrows on
the keyboard.
- Once you have selected the part of the movie you wish to take a snap shot of
you simply click this
button in the bottom right hand side of the screen.
- You will be asked where you want to save the snap shot. It is highly
recommended that you save this file onto your H: drive.
