Metropolitan Veterinary Specialty and Emergency Services is seeking a motivated new to recent graduate of an accredited veterinary school looking for a stimulating environment in a multidisciplinary referral practice. Employment position is for the after hours emergency service. The position would involve primarily working evening, weekend and overnight shifts in metropolitan Louisville, KY. Metropolitan Veterinary Specialists is a multidisciplinary referral practice consisting of four surgeons, three internists, two board-certified criticalists, one board-eligible criticalist, one neurologist, two dermatologists, an ophthalmologist and one behaviorist. Emergency clinicians are supported at all times by one ACVIM/ACVECC diplomate. Four board-certified surgeons share duties covering the emergency service and are available for consultation or to perform procedures at any time. We currently have cage-side rounds to discuss patient care daily as well as intern rounds three out of four weeks per month for literature review, topic presentations and more. Services provided by Metropolitan Veterinary Emergency Service include but are not limited to the following: routine hematology, routine clinical chemistries, blood gas analysis, PT/aPTT, thromboelestography, invasive and non-invasive blood pressure evaluation, EKG, in-house telemetry, oxygen therapy, mechanical ventilation, radiography, ultrasonography and computed tomography, fluid therapy and supportive care. The emergency service is supported by a seasoned veterinary staff.

Salary is $50,000-$80,000.
Job requirements include DVM from an accredited college of veterinary medicine and KY state licensure. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are flexible, positive and desire to learn while working hard. Candidate may have variable degrees of experience. New graduates will be considered.
