Immunologist to speak at veterinary college on Sept. 26, 2003Immunologist Dr. Judith Whittum-Hudson of Wayne State University will speak at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine on Sept. 26. She will present "A molecular mimic as a novel anti-chlamydial vaccine," at 1 p.m. in 203 Greene Hall.Dr. Whittum-Hudson is a professor of rheumatology, immunology and microbiology, and ophthalmology. For 27 years she has investigated diseases induced by the intracellular bacterium, Chlamydia, a widespread pathogen of animals and humans that can cause chronic diseases in livestock, such as abortion, infertility, mastitis, pneumonia and enteritis.
