Abdominal Radiography
Tutorial Description This tutorial teaches the student basic radiographic principles and
anatomy of the small animal abdomen. Contrast procedures are included for diagnosis of gastrointestinal and urinary tract disorders.
Tutorial Goals 1. Understand general principles of radiographic interpretation.
2. Know basic radiographic anatomy. 3. Understand and be able to recognize peritoneal fluid or air in the abdominal cavity 4. Be able to recognize and give differentials for abdominal masses. 5. Know how
to perform and interpret routine contrast studies of the gastrointestinal tract. 6. Be able to recognize and generate a list of differentials for common diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract.
7. Know how to perform and interpret routine contrast studies of the urinary tract. 8. Be able to recognize and generate a list of differentials for common diseases affecting the urinary tract.
9. Be able to recognize pregnancy and other conditions of the reproductive tract.
