Tiger Turns 30!

What is your earliest memory of Tiger?

Tiger (War Eagle VI) has lived at Auburn University since 1986, but was hatched in captivity in 1980. This year we proudly celebrate 30 years of this majestic Golden Eagle's life. Tiger was the first eagle to fly free in Jordan-Hare Stadium and, in addition to appearing in hundreds of educational presentations, fly at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City.

To celebrate and honor her, nationally known artist Stephen Malkoff has teamed with the Southeastern Raptor Center to produce an unforgettable pencil portrait of Tiger. The original drawing was unveiled during halftime of Auburn’s homecoming game on Nov. 6.

This representation of Tiger displays her beauty, her strength, and “War Eagle” pride. Only 3,000 lithograph prints are to be produced. Signed and numbered prints are available in framed or unframed formats.

Stephen Malkoff whose limited edition print of "Tiger," War Eagle VI, commemorates Tiger’s 30th birthday. Although she is retired from stadium flights, Tiger endures as an icon for Auburn University.

Mr. Malkoff will donate a portion of each print’s sale to support the design and construction of a welcome center at the Edgar B. Carter Educational Amphitheater. The center will provide drinking water, restrooms, storage, and educational areas to complement the raptor programs performed for children and adults.
