Dermatology
The dermatology service specializes in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of skin diseases all species of small, large and exotic animals with a commitment to providing patients and clients with excellent care and continuing support for treatment and management of animal dermatoses.
With an emphasis on dogs, cats and horses, the service provides diagnosis and treatment for environmental, food and flea allergies, ear conditions, infectious dermatitis, autoimmune, neoplastic and parasitic skin disorders.
The dermatology care team is led by two dedicated American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) board-certified faculty clinicians, two licensed residents specializing in the field of dermatology and a certified veterinary technician (CVT).
Appointments are required for all non-emergency cases and can be scheduled by either the owner or referring veterinarian. An appointment coordinator is available Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 4:30pm CST by phone at (334) 844-4690. - Intradermal allergy testing for dogs, cats and horses to identify allergen-specific immunotherapies unique to the patient’s condition.
- Equine patient consultations for recurrent airway obstruction (RAO) secondary to allergies.
Skin biopsies to diagnose various bacterial and fungal diseases, as well as various immune-mediated, infectious and neoplastic diseases. - deep ear flushes

All fees are due at time of service. Hospitalizations require a deposit at intake equal to half of the high estimate with remaining balance due at discharge. Owners will be notified of revised estimates due to additional necessary treatments or if additional charges for lab work, etc. are incurred after discharge.
