Austin selected as U.S. Secretary of Defense
Congratulations to General Lloyd Austin, Auburn alumnus and Board of Trustees member, selected to be the next U.S. Secretary of Defense. General Austin is Vet Med’s Board of Trustee liaison and a strong advocate for the college’s programs and students. We are proud to have had several opportunities to share with him the important work of Auburn Vet Med faculty, staff, and students during his visits to campus. General Austin’s understanding of the principles of One Health and his recognition of the importance of CVM research to national security are a testament to his breadth of perspective in leading the Department of Defense. We thank General Austin for his service to the country, to Auburn University and to the College of Veterinary Medicine.
