Group Description:
To serve the discipline of aquatic veterinary medicine in enhancing aquatic animal health and welfare, public health, and seafood safety in support of the veterinary profession, aquatic animal owners and industries, and other stakeholders.
Principle Activities, Events, or Programs:
Lectures and labs on marine and freshwater medicine, including fisheries, aquaculture, research, wildlife, and aquarium medicine.
How this group’s activities benefit the profession, university, and community:
This organization educates future veterinarians in order to improve aquatic medicine, public health, and food safety by supplementing aquatic curriculum.
How to get involved with this group:
Any student at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine can join our WAVMA chapter by contacting the treasurer in order to pay dues and become an active member.
