Progressive Paws Wellness Club
Group Description:
Progressive Paws Wellness Club is an organization devoted to providing students, faculty, and their dogs a healthy form of stress relief through physical activity. In an environment where it is easy to be overwhelmed, Progressive Paws schedules weekly group walks and yoga classes as well as hikes throughout the semester to get students exercising and away from everyday stressors. People of all fitness levels are welcome, and this club is free to join!
Principle Activities, Events, or Programs:
Progressive Paws hosts group walks at Kiesel Park every Saturday morning, weekly yoga classes, hikes throughout the semester, 5K beginner running programs, and various other stress-relieving activities!
How this group’s activities benefit the profession, university, and community:
In a time when mental health and wellness is impacting the profession so profoundly, it is pertinent that there be outlets to combat the stressful nature of veterinary medicine. Progressive Paws was founded to do that! Members are encouraged to participate in group activities and earn prizes for milestones.
