Practice Ownership Summit
The Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine will hold its first Practice Ownership Summit on Saturday, March 23, 2019.
This conference will include sessions that benefit young alumni interested in practice ownership and additional sessions that benefit practice owners interested in developing a highly marketable practice and transitioning towards retirement.
The conference will feature veterinary business professionals along with alumni panels who will share their personal experiences, successes, and pitfalls when buying and/or selling their practice.
- Matt Salois, AVMA’s chief economist, will speak on economic trends in veterinary medicine. He will discuss the role of practice ownership and competitive purchasing strategies along with the U.S. macroeconomic landscape and how it impacts the veterinary industry.
- Gary Glassman and Dr. Lance Roasa will be speaking to attendees on practice ownership as well. Glassmann, CPA and Partner at Burzenski & Company, P.C., will address unique approaches for experienced practice owners considering a transition or sale. Dr. Roasa, DVM, MS, JD, who is CEO of the Flatwater Veterinary Group, P.C., will share with associates the benefits of owning a practice and important considerations prior to taking the leap.
