Biography
Dr. Castro is originally from Brazil where he received his DVM in 2005, followed by a rotating internship in small animal private practice in 2006. He then received a master’s degree in Anesthesia and Pain Management in 2008 and was awarded his Doctor of Science degree with emphasis in cardiovascular physiology in 2015.
In 2016, Dr. Castro and his family moved to the United States to start his residency in anesthesia and pain management at the University of Florida which was concluded in 2019. Between 2019 to 2021 Dr Castro worked as an assistant clinical professor in veterinary anesthesia at the University of California-Davis. In October 2021 Dr. Castro joined Auburn University as an assistant clinical professor in Anesthesia and Pain Management for both small and large animals.
