Biography
Dr. Martha Lane Friedman is a native of Huntsville, Alabama. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Genetics from the University of Georgia in 2009, and earned her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), magna cum laude, from the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2013. After receiving her DVM, Dr. Friedman completed a one year rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Louisiana State University followed by a three year residency in Veterinary Dermatology. Dr. Friedman was board certified as a veterinary dermatologist by the American College of Veterinary Dermatology (ACVD) in 2017, culminating eight years of training to achieve her dream vocation.
In 2017 Dr. Friedman and her husband moved to his hometown of Fairhope, Alabama, where she provided veterinary dermatology services through local veterinary practices until joining the Auburn Veterinary Specialists – Gulf Shores team in 2020. She is thrilled to have rejoined the Auburn family on the beautiful Alabama coast.
Dr. Friedman provides animal health care and clinical education at the college’s Auburn Veterinary Specialists-Gulf Shores, the centerpiece of the Auburn University Educational Complex in Gulf Shores, Ala, providing specialty care veterinary service and clinical educational opportunities for senior veterinary students.
