Dr. Mastrorilli-Wenzel earned her D.V.M. and Ph.D. degrees in 2002 and 2006, respectively, from the University of Bologna, Italy. She began a clinical pathology residency at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, Spain in 2006. In 2007 she worked as a research associate in the Clinical Immunology and Flow Cytometry Laboratory, Kansas State University, under the supervision of Dr. Melinda Wilkerson. She began a clinical pathology residency at Auburn University in 2008 and received board certification by American College of Veterinary Pathologists in 2011. Dr. Mastrorilli-Wenzel joined the faculty at Auburn University as a Clinical Instructor in 2011.

Teaching Interests:
Dr. Mastrorilli-Wenzel is involved in the instruction of veterinary students during all phases of their training with considerable time devoted in teaching seniors during their rotation in diagnostic pathology. She provides advanced teaching in several lectures offered to graduate students. Dr. Mastrorilli-Wenzel enjoys diagnostic duty and teaching students, interns and residents rotating through the clinical pathology laboratory.
Dr. Mastrorilli-Wenzel’s areas of interest include lymphoma and WHO classification, myelodysplastic syndromes, myeloid leukemias, flow cytometry and cytochemistry.
