Dr. Newcomer completed his undergraduate studies at Anderson University in Anderson, Indiana in 1998. After receiving his DVM from the University of Florida in 2002, Dr. Newcomer joined a large dairy practice in central California and practiced dairy production medicine for two years. He served with Christian Veterinary Mission in the Central African Republic for two years assisting pastoralists and small farmers with their livestock.
Dr. Newcomer joined the faculty of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine in July, 2008 as a Clinical Instructor in the Farm Animal section of the Department of Clinical Sciences while completing a PhD in Biomedical Sciences and achieving board certification by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Large Animal) and American College of Veterinary Preventive Medicine.
Research Interests:
Infectious diseases of cattle and small ruminants, tropical medicine and disease, dairy and beef production medicine.
