Please note radiology consultation process is now converting to the new referral system.
Dear Primary Care Veterinarians,
In July we initiated a change in our referral radiology reporting process to hopefully become more efficient and timely in providing our imaging reports to you. Most of the hospitals using our service have begun sending their digital images through our teleradiology partner DVMInsight. As of November 1, 2018 we will only be accepting digital referral images through this new process. We will no longer be accepting images attached to email messages or directly to our referral server. If you wish to continue to use our service, you will need to complete the DVMInsight New Client Request form (clicking on this will send you to the form). Specify Auburn University at the top of the form for the teleradiology company you would like to use and send the completed form to DVMInsight at support@DVMinsight.net. This company will guide you through the setup process to send the images and referral information to us. You will still be able to select either a preferred radiologist or 1st available radiologist.
If you are in the process of converting to the new system but not quite finished and have an urgent need for image evaluation, please send to me the case information (contact information, patient signalment, clinical history, and any specific questions) to me at firstname.lastname@example.org and I will try to get that report for you.
For conventional film radiographs that you wish to send through the mail to be read, please include your contact information (including email address), patient signalment, clinical history, and any specific questions regarding the images. Send the radiographs to Auburn University Radiology, 1220 Wire Rd., Auburn, AL 36849.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Auburn University’s radiology staff is happy to help you with your imaging cases.
- * We will make every effort to provide you with an oral or written report in a timely manner, but due to our in-house responsibilities, we cannot guarantee a specific turnaround time or “stat” time, nor are we are able to provide weekend or holiday support.
- * If you have not received a report or phone call regarding a case within 24-48 hours after online submission of the request, please do not hesitate to call and check on the status of the case.
- * Ultrasound evaluations are only evaluated by a few of the participating radiologists in our service, so a report on ultrasound images may be delayed until a participating radiologist is available to read ultrasound images.
- * Please also note that we do not offer reports on equine pre-purchase examinations or other presale or screening examinations.
