Dear Auburn University Raptor Center Community,
I am honored to introduce myself as the new Director of the Auburn University Raptor Center. My name is Dr. Robyn Miller, and I am thrilled to step into this role, continuing the center’s vital work in conservation, education, and rehabilitation.
Auburn’s Raptor Center holds a special place in my heart. This is where I realized that working with raptors could be more than a passion; it could be a calling. From my formative years at Auburn, I set out to turn my passion into purpose, building a career dedicated to raptor conservation and education. Along the way, I’ve had the privilege of helping develop a new raptor facility, launching community-driven conservation initiatives, and inspiring students nationwide through STEM-based wildlife education.
Now, I have the incredible opportunity to give back to the very place that first inspired me.
As we move forward, I look forward to strengthening our rehabilitation efforts, growing our educational outreach, and developing our research and conservation initiatives. More importantly, I want to ensure that AURC continues to be a place where people—whether that's students or visitors—connect with these magnificent birds in meaningful ways and feel empowered to join us in conserving them.
I invite you to be part of this journey with us. Whether through attending programs, supporting our mission, or simply sharing your love for raptors, your engagement is what makes this center so special. I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming months and working together to advance AURC’s impact.
Thank you for your continued support. I am excited for what’s ahead! |

Each spring, many young raptors find themselves displaced due to storms, failure to fledge, human intervention, or habitat loss. We call this time of year “Orphan Season,” and it’s one of the busiest stretches for our rehabilitation clinic due to the number of orphans and the intense care they require.
When possible, Auburn University Raptor Center works to reunite these orphaned raptors with their parents. If that’s not an option, we step in to raise them with the goal of releasing them once they’re of age. Our wishlist items are hand-picked by our staff to fulfill everything that a growing raptor needs!

Wing Fling
One of Auburn’s most popular programs — the Wing Fling — offers fans the opportunity to see a raptor show where they will experience birds of prey eye-to-eye and watch as they swoop overhead.
Wing Fling will be held on Friday, April 11, 2025 at 4 p.m.
During the show, hawks, falcons, eagles and other birds of prey are free-flown from towers and around the amphitheater, enabling visitors to see these raptors flying close. Visitors will also learn interesting facts about natural history, conservation, and rehabilitation. This educational presentation is appropriate for all ages.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for K-12 students and can be purchased in advance or upon arrival; there is no charge for children age three and under. Parking is on-site. Gates will open at 3PM and the show starts at 4PM.
All birds used in the programs are permanent residents that are non-releasable due to prior injuries or human imprinting. The Auburn University Raptor Center is a division of the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine. |
We rely on the generosity and support of individuals, corporations and foundations to advance our mission. By donating to our facility, you are providing vital resources to ensure we deliver outstanding medical care to our patients undergoing rehabilitation and high quality educational presentations to the community. To learn about different ways to give or for more information, please contact the Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine Advancement team at giving@vetmed.auburn.edu or call (334) 844-1446. |
