The equine internal medicine service is composed of 4 board certified internal medicine specialists and 3 graduate veterinarians in training to become specialists (residents). We see horses with respiratory, neurological, gastrointestinal (colic, diarrhea, gastric ulcers), muscular, endocrine and heart disorders. We also specialize in determining causes of weight loss, poor performance, and nasal discharge.
State-of-the-art equipment such as digital radiography, endoscopy, ultrasound, CT, MRI, linear accelerator, electrocardiogram and computerized lameness detection systems are available.
We work closely with the oncology and ophthalmology services to treat horses with eye problems and oncologic disorders.
We also provide intensive care for foals, colics and other sick horses that require round the clock care.
Routine vaccinations, Coggin’s tests, health certificates, deworming and dental care is also provided.
