Emergencies

The Auburn University Raptor Center is now open and admitting injured, orphaned and ill raptor patients with prior phone authorization from rehabilitation staff. New patients will be accepted 7 days a week on a limited capacity basis. The last admission will be at 4:30 pm Central time (CT) daily.

Until further notice, patients will NOT be admitted to the Bailey Small Animal Teaching Hospital.

Please call the Auburn University Raptor Center Rehabilitation Section at 334-844-6347 for guidance and assistance with injured, orphaned, or ill raptors.  For all other species needing assistance, visit Outdoor Alabama for a list of licensed wildlife rehabilitators in Alabama and Georgia Department of Natural Resources Wildlife Resources Division for a list of licensed wildlife rehabilitators in Georgia.

Emergency services at the Auburn University Large and Small Animal Veterinary Teaching Hospitals operate 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including holidays. It is important to call the hospital emergency phone number listed below for either the large or small hospital before arrival when transporting an animal for emergency care. When possible, it is recommended to first contact your veterinarian to request assistance through referral of your case directly through the on-duty clinician. This is not required but can help to streamline the triage and treatment process.  Phone numbers and GPS addresses are listed below for both the large and small animal emergency units.
