Fernanda Catacci Guimaraes, DVM

Dr. Fernanda Catacci Guimaraes received her DVM from the State University of Londrina (Brazil) in 2018. She went on to complete a Small Animal Surgery Residency at UNESP – Botucatu in 2021. After a year as a primary surgeon in private practice, Dr. Catacci decided to pursue her growing interest in neurology and neurosurgery. She then joined the Toedebusch Lab at the University of California-Davis as a full-time postdoctoral researcher, where she contributed to the development of a canine cancer atlas characterizing the immune landscape of canine gliomas and comparing these findings to genetic and transcriptomic alterations.

Dr. Catacci is currently completing a Master’s degree in Biological Sciences alongside a Neurology and Neurosurgery specialty internship at Auburn University, which she began in July 2024.
