Dr. Lazarowski received a B.A. double majoring in Psychology and Spanish from the University of North Carolina Wilmington, where she then completed a Master’s degree in Psychology with a focus on animal cognition and behavior. She then joined the department of biomedical sciences at North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine as a Research Associate studying behavior and olfaction in military working dogs. Dr. Lazarowski then completed a Ph.D. in Cognitive and Behavioral Sciences from Auburn University, studying cognitive development in detection dogs. Following her Ph.D., Dr. Lazarowski completed a Postdoctoral Fellowship with Auburn University’s Canine Performance Sciences.
