Biography
Dr. Sanjeev K. Narayanan joined the CVM faculty in October 2025 after serving as Professor and Head of the Department of Comparative Pathobiology in Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. He also served as the college’s Interim Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies. Dr. Narayanan is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Pathologists and the American College of Veterinary Microbiologists. His honors and accolades include the Bayer Teaching Excellence Award (2010 and 2014), as well as the Purdue College of Veterinary Medicine’s Award of Excellence for teaching second-year DVM students (2021).
Research Interests
Dr. Narayanan’s research interests include the development of strategies to reduce the use of antibiotics in animals and humans and to counteract the threat of antimicrobial resistance among pathogenic bacteria. His research focuses on the development of animal models and provision of pathology support for projects in vaccine and drug development, biomedical device development and basic medical biology studies.
