Bald Eagle Set for Release July 28 at West Point Lake
Auburn University’s Southeastern Raptor Center, in conjunction with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, will release an immature adult bald eagle Saturday, July 28, at West Point Lake near LaGrange, Georgia.
The release is open to the public and set for 10 a.m. EST near the Pyne Road Park boat ramp off Georgia 109 (Roanoke Road), just west of LaGrange.
The fledgling eagle was admitted to the Southeastern Raptor Center at Auburn’s College of Veterinary Medicine April 20. The bird reportedly had fallen from a nest in Thomas County.
