Aimee Powell

Veterinary Technician III, Auburn College of Veterinary Medicine

Aimee Powell is a Veterinary Technician III in the Orthopedic Surgery department at Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine, bringing 7.5 years of experience in veterinary medicine. Her primary area of practice is orthopedic surgery, with a special focus on surgical assisting in orthopedic procedures.

Aimee earned her Bachelor of Business Administration from Columbus State University in 2010, before returning to school in 2017 at Gwinnett Technical College, graduating in 2019 with an Associate of Applied Science in Veterinary Technology and obtaining her Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) credential. She also holds RECOVER Basic and Advanced Life Support (BLS/ALS) certification.

Aimee discovered her love for surgery during school and began her veterinary career at a private referral surgical practice from 2019 to early 2024, where she specialized in orthopedics, soft tissue, and neurosurgery. She joined AUCVM in 2024 as a floater technician and quickly found her home on the orthopedic service, where she now actively participates in surgical procedures and coaches veterinary students during their clinical rotations.

A dedicated educator and coach, Aimee brings over seven years of combined teaching experience — five years in private practice and 2.5 years in an academic setting — mentoring students and staff through hands-on surgical coaching.
