Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons at Weems & Stephens Equine Hospital
Dr. Kevin Claunch graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. He completed an internship at Rood & Riddle Equine Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky in 2011 followed by a surgical residency at the University of Georgia 2011-2014. He joined Weems & Stephens Equine Hospital in Aubrey, TX in 2014 and became a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2015. Clinical interests include all aspects of equine surgery including orthopedic, upper airway, and laparoscopic surgery as well as lameness.

Tracheostomies: Simple and Complicated Equine
This lecture will outline the indications and technique for both temporary and permanent tracheostomies. While generally a simple procedure, we will cover pitfalls, technical errors, and complications that can be encountered both during and after a tracheostomy has been performed.

Emergencies Associated with Breeding Equine
This lecture will focus on emergency situations associated with breeding mares. With the more frequent application of advanced reproductive techniques in horses this will include complications that have occurred as a result of oocyte aspiration.

- Be able to triage and implement treatment for breeding associated procedures
- Be well versed in discussion with owners about potential risks with breeding mare
